Welcome to Casa Taller El Boga our cultural centre and artists' residency located in a colonial house by the magnificent Magdalena river in the historic centre of the world heritage town of Mompox, Colombia.

Who is this call addressed to? To writers, visual artists, designers, musicians, audio producers, and researchers who are carrying out an artistic project. The call is open to Colombian and foreign artists alike. Foreigners must have a working knowledge of Spanish.

Gwendy Bibiana Rozo Vargas (Bogotá, 1995) is a visual artist with studies in Industrial Design and Goldsmithing at the National University of Colombia. Her work touches on the relationship between the emotional and physical experiences that human beings face with the landscape and manual work.

El Boga Artist in Residence October-November 2019

During her residency, Gwendy offered a workshop "Formulation of ideas for creation" with students of filigree and traditional cooking from the Escuela Taller de Mompox. Creativity, design inspired by nature (biomimicry), visual communication and experimentation with materials from the region were discussed.
