Giovanny Fernández is a native of Los Angeles (United States) with Latin American parents. His work is influenced by his heritage, the often overlooked art of his environment, local gang culture, spiritual communities, and the natural environment, where he finds beauty and develops a deep appreciation for the identity of Los Angeles.
His artistic practice reflects a conscious and transformative journey. Over the years, he has explored new global perspectives, capturing his experiences through various media and fusing personal and cultural insights to create vibrant and resonant works.
El Boga Residence
During his stay at El Boga he plans to paint a mural that reflects the vibrant spirit of the Momposino community. He wants to immerse himself in the environment and connect with the people who make this place unique. The mural will be made by absorbing the rich culture and aesthetics of the area, creating a work that everyone can recognize and be proud of. Driven by a passion for diverse cultures, the artist wishes to give back through art, capturing the identity and stories of the community.
