Sam Davies is Artistic Director/Founder of the Untold Orchestra. A Manchester based orchestra that places collaboration at the centre of its impact, in efforts to make orchestras more accessible to underrepresented communities. Over the last 4 years under his leadership they have performed over 1200 shows, established a community women's choir, curated performances in care services, transitioned into a charity, and collaborated with over 300 musicians and over 50 guest artists.
Alongside his work with the Untold Orchestra, Sam is a keyboardist, musical director and arranger and has himself performed over 1000 gigs in the last 10 years, arranged for grammy award winning artists and collaborated with a variety of community organisations.
Access to creative opportunity is the driving force behind all of Sam's work, particularly as an educator, facilitator and mentor. He currently acts as a mentor in entrepreneurship for students at the Royal Northern College of Music, helping students develop business skills they can't learn in the practice room.
Residency El Boga
Sam is currently spending 6 months in Colombia researching social action through music initiatives. He wishes to spend his time in Mompox to write several case studies, journals sharing key learnings, arrange several pieces of music. While in Mompox he intends to hold a solo piano concert, and offer mentorship to artists.
