Natalia Guzmán Reyes (Bogotá) has a PhD in Literature, is a reading mediator and literary workshop leader, with sixteen years' experience in teaching literature. Her practice lies at the intersection between pedagogy, cultural mediation and literary research, with a special interest in reading as a collective, present and meaningful experience. For more than fifteen years, she has accompanied reading communities in educational, publishing, and cultural contexts, creating spaces for conversation around Latin American literature, writing, and contemporary narratives.

Her work focuses on teaching literature to teenagers and adults, understood not as an object of study, but as a transformative experience, a space for encounter, critical thinking and sensitive training. Since 2024, she has been running virtual reading clubs and producing digital content aimed at promoting reading, expanding her mediation practices to virtual environments and diverse reading communities.

Residency at El Boga

During her residency at El Boga, Natalia will spend a month revising and rewriting her doctoral thesis for future publication, a research project focused on the novel of violence in Colombia, specifically focusing on the works of Marvel Moreno, Luis Fayad and Tomás González. This process is conceived as a critical and sensitive rereading of a narrative archive traversed by violence, silence and memory.

Prior to this residency, she participated in El Boga in two processes related to social service, carried out in October 2024 and July 2025, and will accompany a new group in January 2026. These experiences bring together students from Bogotá and Mompox who are doing their social service in local communities. These are pedagogical exercises focused on conservation and environmental education, which integrate writing as a tool for recording the participants' learning, feelings and experiences.
