//Hybrid researcher in art, ecology and society

//June-july 2025

Sara Granados is a PhD researcher on community resilience in amphibious territories in the Development Planning Department at University College London. Her project addresses amphibious living in the fluid geography of Mompox, Colombia, seeking to examine how the practices and knowledge of local communities contribute to resilience in water-dominated environments.

By situating the study in the unique wetlands of Mompox, the spatial, ecological, and cultural dimensions of adaptation to fluid geographies are emphasised.

Artistic residency in El Boga

Sara will use her residency at El Boga to carry out fieldwork for her art-based doctoral research, using methods such as sound diaries, which document site-specific adaptive practices, and advocating for inclusive planning strategies that respect the fluid and interconnected nature of water and territory.

This residency and research are supported by the Royal Geographical Society, through the Frederick Soddy Fund.
